A Top Influencer, Linkedin Top Voice and @Medium Top Writer walk into a conference hall… how does this gag go…? The Top Linkedin Voice Prof. Jonathan A.J. Wilson PhD DLitt opens with playing Bass to 54–46 That’s My Number by Toots and the Maytals. The audience responds.

The top influencer Mariah Idrissi, first top model/influencer in a Hijab unfurls her story. She’s incredibly humble and modest; she likes to keep herself authentic. She wins over the audience; applause follows.

The top @Medium writer ( that’s me) unfurls in public for the first time a 12x4 foot photographic image of 57 of the UK’s leading TV producers of colour, inspired by the Jazz photo, A Great Day in Harlem. The audience responds.

An invitee at the original launch sums up what we achieved. It wasn’t the BBC, Channel 4 or some big outfit that did this, but Simone and us, from my previous university.

As we leave the stage, I’m reminded of Baldwin’s message, “Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced”. Tell those stories #blackhistorymonth

Stories, stories, stories… It’s both the drug you can’t shake and the elixier which holds power over the mind.

Somebody thought it was a good pun on Top Gun. Maybe it was. Maybe what it meant was, Hack, not to be confused with journalist, but actually signified tech hacks.

What if you could relive your past so vividly, but not only that re-engineer new timelines? Sounds crazy ! Imagine your own archive being rerun back at you. It’s lifelike viewed via VR, but gives you a new sense of your past and hence future.

That’s what we’ve been exploring. In 2007 on the plains of Norway, a mild sunny day, Lynx choppers are flying all around us. Masked special elite forces are ushering us aside. Today tapping into this archive to recreate that story won’t be just about escapism anymore, this would be Social Media II. A way of creating true-false memories from events.

The danger is what if people begun to believe this trail and preferred it as their constructs, they never wanted to come back to the real world, if you could call it that.

I’m giving a talk about applied storytelling, mixing science ( my background) with science fiction, to an audience. This is how I’m starting with images inside a global simulated conflict. #project #future #tech #film #media #project #events #storytelling #science
