This is photo of my father — a sort of 1950s #Luther — except it isn’t. I’ll explain. Next week I present this AI project to one of the UK’s most august bodies in film and TV. First context.

I first started thinking about nascent #ai around 2006. Was there a way of watching a prog in which you could access diff context? I coded a crude version using Actionscripting for my platform viewmagazine which The Economist captured it here.

Various innovations which expressed what AI or extended multimedia could do behind viewmagazine would gain int recognition and awards. Being featured on Apple’s website.

Then in 2016 s’ing twigged leading a start-up course for MAs and working with industry. 2018 I was invited to spend time in Vancouver as an Asper Visiting Prof. and in 2019 at Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd James Taylor and I launched a prog that embedded AI teachings.

#AIs main foci appeared to be centred around creation of
modular texts; a 23-yr-old AI genius Toby White showed an early future of chatGPT etc. We took note. And for the networks it was the algorithms to ensure News networks/ SM targeted the “right” users for their content. I presented on a school’s platform.

Then 2022 happened. Gen AI. Here was a way to use #Ai to create real life stories. Cover image top is AI. My fam couldn’t tell diff. Found archive, dad’s letters, photos of us fostered etc. But there were holes. AI stepped in. I coded the platform

This feels like 2005 again where news and docs will make strident leaps beyond present recognition. It’s an approach that will be used by a new gen of programme makers where the audience clearly drives the future. Time to scrub up for my talk. Also in 2 weeks something huge drops.
