Seven years Chris, that’s the equivalent time of pursuing a p/t PhD. I use that as a reference, because your article is a series of exegesis; a critical evaluation of journalism’s many achilles, which is as enlightening as it is sobering. Sadly, there’s much in journalism that has little time for being rigorous. I’m reminded of the day I walked into my department believing as a broadcast journalist and ‘pretty good’ videojournalist, I had it all covered before realising much of what was being practiced by the networks had holes in it the size of boulders. I hope the Guardian et al take note of your piece (wishful?). I’m sure to show this to our current cohorts. Nice knowledge.
